Metaphorical thieves

Stealing not those physical things,

But instead pilfering that which is more dear:

heart,   breath,        thought

And taking it away with them.

Those who care not

For victims left in their wake.

The metaphorical thieves

Who but turn their victims

Into thieves themselves, stealing

a look,      and a moment to dream.

They turn us all into thieves until,

Even these words,

A stolen thought.
