How are we here supposed to ever know

Wherein the virtue of this life doth lie?

We could study the lore of years ago,

Or too the things ahead could turn our eye.

But where, in truth, does virtue yet reside?

For me I think it’s in the here and now,

And that we’ve merely pushed it to the side

So that we cannot be forced to allow

That we are not yet living as we should.

We have to realize and acknowledge that

We have the pow’r to shape our lives in good,

And find the end we wish to arrive at

If only we reject the easy road

For one with more rewarding moral code.
